Internationally-accredited Celebrity Chef Orlando Satchell is grateful for those who supported his vision to have Caribbean cuisine globally recognised. He is the current award-holder for the ‘Caribbean Chef of the Year’ title, while his culinary establishment has been accredited as one of the 'Top Three in the Caribbean'. The food veteran was voted one of the best chefs in the region for 2018 and 2019 by Caribbean Journal and has now been recognised as the only Caribbean restaurant to be observed as one of the best in the world by Travel & Leisure and Food & Wine. The Top Chef's Saint Lucian culinary abode is the only Caribbean restaurant to have attained this accolade by the rated publication. The annual 'World’s Best Restaurants' list, a collaboration between Travel + Leisure and Food & Wine, is a celebration of eateries around the world which best capture the spirit, culture and cuisine of their communities.
In 2019, Satchell was also honoured with a Gault Millau France 2019 award and as one of the top restaurants to dine at in Saint Lucia numerous times by Trip Advisor. The experienced chef deems these as major feats which he is humbled by, giving props to his mother as the main foundational contributor toward his success. He relishes fond memories of growing up observing her in full swing in the heart of the home, the kitchen, shopping around London exhibiting her impeccable bargaining skills in the bustling marketplaces.

Orlando's Restaurant & Bar is closed on Sundays. The restaurant remains closed on Mondays, which are our dedicated northern Masterclass days. Chef Satchell is available on both days for Private Catering, Chef Service, One-on-one and Group Masterclasses via advance bookings.

SHARING THE LOVE FOR VENDORS
For the past six years, Orlando has been hosting the local vendors in his restaurant for dinner, showing them appreciation for their consistency, dedication and hard work supplying organic produce to him and other restauranteurs. Support the petition to have December 12th designated ats National Vendors' Day.
Local agricultural farmers, manufacturers, product vendors and fishermen have not been sufficiently recognised for their invaluable contribution toward Saint Lucia's local economy. Let's bind together as we petition for the cause in favour of establishing December 12th, 2020 as National Vendors' Day in Saint Lucia.
Saint Lucian agricultural workers have been for decades tilling the soil, toiling effortlessly daily planting, harvesting and distributing the essential food supplies we all depend upon. We enjoy their produce both in their natural and enhanced forms on a daily basis, often never even considering the processes involved in bringing them to our tables, kitchen shelves, refrigerators, households in general or otherwise. We enjoy the labour of their hands as part of our social, entertainment, leisure experiences both within our homes and externally at food and beverage establishments.
These hardworking heroes need to be honoured for their continuous valuable contribution toward society. National Vendors' Day will allow not only our food suppliers but also our agricultural product developers a special day of nationwide recognition.
